  • Discover the magic of sunrise on our tour to the Rainbow Mountain, one of the great tourist attractions in the heart of the Inca Empire. This journey begins in the early morning, where our transportation will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the community of Phulawasipata, which is the starting point of our hike.
  • During the trek, we will begin with a 1.5-hour hike at high altitude, where you will be able to witness Andean fauna and learn about ancestral myths from the local community members. Upon arrival, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the Rainbow Mountain located at an altitude of 5200 meters above sea level. 
  • Additionally, you'll have some rest time to fully enjoy the tour and capture the mystical Andean landscape with your camera.

Itinerary

 

  • This tour to the Rainbow Mountain begins in the early morning, so we will pick you up from your hotel in the Historical Center of Cusco towards the South Valley. It takes almost 2 hours to get to  Cusipata, from where we will continue with the transportation for 1 hour to the town of Phulawasipata.
  • Once we  arrive at the town of Phulawasipata, located at an altitude of 4,626 meters above sea level (15,177.17ft), we will start our hike of almost 1.5 hours along a beautiful stream. Along the way, you can observe the surrounding fauna such as Andean camelids (llama, alpaca), and you might even see the Andean cat. Have your camera ready and document your journey! 
  • You will also see the highest snow-capped mountain in the region, the majestic and magical "Apu Ausangate". Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to interact with the local community members to learn about their ancestral customs, as well as see the vast fields of various crops including potatoes and other foods cultivated since the Inca era.
  • After walking for 1.5 hours, you will be amazed by Vinicunca, also known as the Rainbow Mountain or Seven Colors Mountain, which is at an altitude of 5,020 meters above sea level (16,466ft). Capture the experience! You will have time to explore the area, take photos, and rest approximately 30 minutes at the top).
  • The return journey will take almost 1 hour along the same route of arrival, where the transportation will take you back to the community of Cusipata.
  • Once in Cusipata, we can enjoy lunch. Then, to conclude the tour, transportation will take you back to Cusco on a journey of almost 2 hours.

  • The passenger is responsible for arriving on time for the established itinerary of the purchased tour package; otherwise, they may join the appropriate service later at their own expense (transportation), and no refund will be applicable for the service not enjoyed.
