We inform that at 1:20 p.m. today, a collision occurred between our train operating on frequency 65 and another train operated by PeruRail at kilometer 94 of the southeastern railway line.
As a result of the impact, we deeply regret the passing of one of our collaborators. We have already contacted the family, to whom we extend our heartfelt condolences, as well as our full support during this difficult time. This tragic event mourns the entire Inca Rail family.
The accident also resulted in injuries among our passengers. Thanks to the valuable support of the National Police, the Fire Department, and the Municipal Security teams of Machu Picchu and Ollantaytambo, and in coordination with Inca Rail teams, passengers were promptly evacuated and received appropriate medical attention arranged by our company. We are ensuring that they continue to receive proper care and remain in constant communication with their families for peace of mind.
We are providing full cooperation to the competent authorities in charge of the investigation and remain available to meet any additional requirements.
Additionally, in accordance with regulatory provisions, railway transportation services have been temporarily suspended.
